Are forests connected by hidden fungus networks? Researchers try to look for 'wood-wide web'

The idea that trees in forests are connected by each other has been part of popular culture for a long period of time and hundreds of claims have been made over the years. The elusive 'wood-wide web' has, however, remained unproven. Scientists have now tried to find the answer to this long-held hypothesis. Researchers has now explored the idea of underground fungi The idea is based on the concept that underground fungi allow trees to share resources with their seedlings — and even protect them. However, the science behind those ideas is unproven. Fungi are living organisms such as moulds, yeast, and mushrooms. Led by Justine Karst of the University of Alberta, a team of researchers has now explored the idea of underground fungi known as common mycorrhizal networks. Reliance Jio is deploying its 5G services at a fast pace. The telco has launched its 5G network in more than 250 cities within 4 months of its launch. And with an aim to roll out 5G PAN India, Jio is reaching more cities in the coming days. In a recent development, Jio has announced that it has launched 5G in 17 more cities in India including Rishikesh and Shimla. Jio 5G now available in 257 cities. In the recent announcement, the telco revealed that it has added more cities of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh to its recent 5G list. Apple to introduce battery-saving mode to watchOS 9

Apple is set to introduce a new battery-saving mode in the upcoming watchOS 9 update. This will enable users to extend the watch's battery life when needed. As per reports by GSMArena, the mode can be manually turned on by using the settings menu or Control Center. Representation image on apple brand. The more energy-intensive features, including always on display, heart rate notifications, arrhythmia tracking, heart rate and blood oxygen readings, will be disabled in the battery-saving mode. Reminders for workouts will be disabled as well. The mode will turn off Wi-Fi and cellular connections if there isn't an iPhone nearby that is connected to the watch, the report said. Additionally, it alerts the user when the battery has 10 per cent left and automatically turns off once when it charges 80 per cent. Read more on..
